Wedding Lighting Pier 60 NYC
Images of a recent event at Pier 60 Located in NYC. This event was a Bat Mitzvah. Our clients went with a lavender linen on their tables so we chose strong warm colors to add an elegant contrast.

Special Event Lighting
This has been a great season! We have really had the ability to design some amazing events. I have been using a lot of texture to highlight and transform the spaces I have been working in. The image below was taken at the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC. This space has an amazingly high ceiling and beautifull architecture. Located in the heart of Manhattan. This space really lends itself to corporate events… Private events… not so much. The raw space looks very cold and do to how high the ceiling is, very vast. My biggest challenge as a designer was to add some warmth to the space and get rid of that board room feel. We Pin Spot lit the centerpieces, washed the tables with a warm amber textured lighting pattern to highlight the table linnin. We used Moving Light Fixtures to illuminate the ceiling with texture as well as spot light formalities and add additional action to the dance floor. Our client was extremly happy with the results, as was I!!

Texture Ceiling Lighting Wash
Our client was looking to enhance the look of their event space. This event took place at the Roosevelt hotel in NYC. This space is amazing but if not illuminated correctly can look like a board room. We enhanced the space with LED up lighting fixtures on both floors (over 90 fixtures) These fixtures created an overall glow to space which was became our lighting base. The ceiling was produced with 16 moving light fixtures to create a wash with rich texture and color. Tables were illuminated with a texture wash in dark Lavender with the floral arrangements illuminated with Pin Spot Lighting.

Up Lighting Needed At Your Event?
As a Lighting Designer I would always say yes! If you are looking for a Dramatic way to Illuminate your event space, Up Lighting can help you to accent the natural architecture of the venue that you like, or hide spaces you dislike.
Shown Left is Studio 450 NYC. This venue has magnificent views of the City. The space is completely white from floor to ceiling a blank canvas. Candle Light on the tables and Chandelier’s provided a warm Glow to the space. This venue doesn’t need a great deal of Lighting, Pin Spotting of Centerpieces can become difficult if not done properly due to the low ceiling height.
Our client was looking to add a Glow to the space by highlighting the perimeter architecture mainly columns in between the vast windows, as well as providing needed ambient lighting for dining, this lighting gave the space depth. We chose to use Wireless LED fixtures in this space that were controlled throughout the event to deliver Rich Smooth color.
When determining if your event will benefit from Up Lighting remember that no other Lighting Treatment reflects a Clients personality more than Up Lighting. Various Lighting Fixtures are available that perform this treatment, LED Up Lighting Fixtures allow Advanced Color Mixing and are Programmed to the individual space and operated Via a Laptop Computer. Another Up Lighting choice is Par 38 Theatrical Fixtures. These fixtures provide one color throughout the event, this can be any color of your choosing. Par 38 Fixtures are great when you want to add Up Lighting to a space but do not want them to change color.

Oheeka Castle Triple Shade Of Pink
Triple Shade Of Pink was the theme for this event. This production was for a Sweet 16 located at Oheeka Castle in NY. Our client was looking for some really over the top lighting for this affair. We chose to Illuminate the space in Layers. For our first layer we utilized 24 of The Color Kinetic LED Up Lights, this layer gave the space a Magenta glow. We then illuminated the ceiling with high power Moving Lights that projected patterns and color. Our final layer was illuminating the centerpieces from below with LED fixtures, these fixtures really made the vases glow with a Rich pink color.
Centerpieces were up lit using wireless LED fixtures. These fixtures allowed us to have the vases one color when guests entered the space, then change them to contrasting pink colors and hues.
High power Moving Light fixtures were placed around the venue on Lighting Truss Towers wrapped in white fabric. These fixtures added Rich color and Texture to the ceiling. The Truss Towers were illuminated from within to give them a glow.
Castle foyer was Illuminated utilizing Color Kinetic Up Lighting fixtures in a warm amber color to keep with the entrance theme of old world castle. This warm amber look was carried throughout the venue as a contrasting color for the Ballroom.
Above is an image showing some of the many color’s that where available that evening. When you have this degree of Lighting at your affair the possibilities are really endless.
